Overview:

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Silampur was opened in the lush surrounding of Silampur village near Maheshpur in Pakur District on 20-02-2010 and inaugarated by the then Deputy Commissioner, Pakur Shri Manish Ranjan, I.A.S. and Deputy Commissioner NVS RO Patna Shri A. K. Shukla. This is great opportunity for Pakur District to have an extra J.N.V.. This is special Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya especially proposed for ST concentrated area (out of existing 137 strength of students, 58 students belong to ST). Within a few year of opening of the vidyalaya it has occupied a dignified place in Pakur district as well as in NVS regional office Patna in near about all fields. Curtailing so many problems Vidyalaya has been heading towards excellence no doubt. This is the result of herculean effort of past Principals, Staff Members, Guardians & Parents and our well desciplined students.

Presently vidyalaya is running in single building of minority hostel of Sidho-Kanho Inter College, Silampur, Maheshpur, Pakur in a temporary site. Vidyalaya got land of 30 Acre in Amrapara block as permanent site of the Vidyalaya. Deputy Commissioner Pakur cum Chairman VMC, JNV-2 Pakur Dr. Sunil Kumar SIngh (IAS) has taken a lot of pain and favour in providing 30 Acre land for permanent site of the vidyalaya. Demarcation of the land and soil testing of the place has been done. Construction will start soon after the allotment of budget from ministry of HRD, Govt. of India.
