Overview:

The Chasnalla Academy came into existence on 9th Feb. 1973 due to the persistent efforts of a small section of intellectuals who realized the need for an educational institution to impart quality education to the wards of IISCO employees as well as non-IISCO local population of Chasnalla which they were deprived of till then.

Ever since that period, the Academy has been making longer strides at a faster pace towards progress and achievements of academic goals despite stiff challenges on financial front. Subsequently in 1975, the sincerity and commitment in the efforts of staff have led the IISCO management finally to grant the aided school status to the Academy. In 1983, the Academy could successfully obtained the affiliation from Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. Over the years, the school due to the untiring and dedicated efforts of a wonderful team of trained and experienced teachers has employed itself into a vibrant Co-educational institution for imparting quality education in English madium. Subsequent years witnessed the augmentation of many infraatructural facilities and ultimately the up-gradation of the school into Senior Secondary level from the Academic year 2005-2006.

In line with the current trend of consistently growing demand for Computer education and computer aided education in the country, Chasnalla Academy has the distinction of being one of the few to introduce computer subjects in curriculum in this region. We have made further strides by trying up a joint venture with NIIT for bringing up a drastic improvement. The salient features of this tie up are

1. Introduction of more PCs to facilitate optimum student- PC ratio.
2. Use of audio visual aids along with softwarefor creating a better learning environment.
3. Introduction of ICAT (Intractive Computer Aided Teaching) - A revolutionary concept in class room teaching which will add a new powerfull dimention to the process of teaching.
4. Fulfillment of Staff training & development needs to acquaint themselves with computer aided teaching methods.

Adaptation of these modern teaching techniques is excepted to generate keen interest, curiosity and learning attitude among the students whichare otherwise subjected to suppression in the monotomous conventional teaching environment. We except this tie up with NIIT to herald a great future for the students of the academy.

The school is run by a management committee constituted by a galaxy of eminent persons with sound educational background and keen interest in socio-cultural activities and headed by senior management cadre os SAIL-ISP. Presently, the school runs in two session for preparing students for CBSE 10+2 pattern of examination.
